HWANG Sung June is our Chief Executive Officer and Director. Mr. Hwang has spent nearly 25 years working in the financial industry in top executive positions across the Asia Pacific market. He has been the Chief Executive Officer for Atlas Investment Management since June 2019, a private equity firm that provides Asian investors access to European and North American markets. Mr. Hwang has spent a significant portion of his career working at Credit Suisse, one of the leading investment banking companies in the world. Over 23 years he held various senior positions including Head of APAC Products and Solutions at Credit Suisse Private Banking, Alternative Chief Executive of the Hong Kong branch of Credit Suisse Group, Credit Suisse’s APAC Head of Institutional Sales and Co-Head of Non-Asia equities, Head of Non-Japan Asia Cash Equities and Regional Head of Research for non-Japan Asia. Mr. Hwang was also the Chief Executive Officer & Global Head of Equities for Samsung Securities (Asia) Ltd from 2010 to 2012, where he managed all the platforms in Hong Kong, Singapore and Korea.
WONG Wai Yu Winnie, our Chief Financial Officer and Director, has nearly two decades of funds management, private equity and investment banking experience. Most recently she was the Chief Financial Officer and one of the founding employees of We Doctor Greater Bay Area from 2018 to 2020. We Doctor Greater Bay Area Limited (“We Doctor Greater Bay Area”) is a subsidiary of We Doctor Holdings Limited (“WeDoctor”), China’s largest digital medical service platform, focusing on digitalizing healthcare services in the Greater Bay Area. She was instrumental in integrating and expanding WeDoctor’s service network to the Greater Bay Area and outside of China. Prior to joining We Doctor Greater Bay Area, she was Director and Portfolio Manager at Harvest Global Investments Ltd., a subsidiary of Harvest Investment Management, one of the largest asset managers in China managing more than $120 billion worth of assets, from 2017 to 2018. From 2009 to 2016, Ms. Wong was Director and Portfolio Manager at the Royal Bank of Canada’s proprietary investment unit, where she managed an investment portfolio of equity and equity linked products. Prior to that she was an investment associate at Warburg Pincus from 2008 to 2009 and Corporate Finance Analyst at Credit Suisse from 2005 to 2008, where she led the execution of several mergers and financing transactions. Major transactions completed include €400 million acquisition of French Animal Nutrition Specialist Adisseo SA by China National Bluestar (Group) Corp in 2005 and Wuxi Pharmatech’s $212 million initial public offering on New York Stock Exchange in 2007.
CHAN Kar Yin Gary, our Chief Investment Officer, has over 25 years of experience in asset management, private equity and investment banking. He has been the Managing Partner and Chief Operating Officer of Atlas Investment Management Ltd. since 2020. His responsibilities include working with professionals on fund formation, acting as manager-in-charge for multiple functions including compliance, risk management, operational and information technology. He has also screened over 4,000 leading European and American private equity funds as potential investment targets. Prior to joining Atlas Investment Management Ltd., Mr. Chan also served as Managing Director at VMS Investment Group Ltd from 2010 to 2017 and Viipark Financial Holdings Co., Limited (previously known as Green Park Financial Holdings Co., Limited) from 2018 to 2020. In his years at VMS Investment Group Ltd, he had substantial investment management responsibilities including managing a multi-strategy research team to analyze listed and private equity transactions, private debt transactions and pre-IPO investments. Prior to this, he was a Portfolio Manager and Head of Global Emerging Markets Research at Mirae Asset Global Investments (HK) Ltd. from 2006 to 2009, where he managed a global emerging markets research team of over 25 analysts in six different offices. The funds Mr. Chan managed have consistently ranked in first or second quartile by Lipper Analytical Services. From 2003 to 2006, he was a Conglomerates Analyst at Credit Suisse. Mr. Chan also served as an analyst in multiple financial institutions in both the U.S. and Hong Kong from 1996 to 2003.
